Asahi were looking for ideas for digital and innovation pieces, and we helped to develop the concept for the Discover Karakuchi app. 

 

Discover Karakuchi was a next level membership and loyalty programme, that was geared towards hitting one of Asahi’s biggest goals: driving trial. 

 

Using AR users were able to find and share free pints of Asahi in a way that was disruptive and exciting.  It also laid the groundwork for introducing Block Chain further down the line – so these digital pints could become a currency in their own right. 

 

Alongside this the app would feature AR content from connected bar mats and would reward users who found real life Karakuchi symbols with prizes such as trips to Japan.
